New to the forum and have a couple of questions. I'm thinking of buying a mill drill and lately i've heard that some of the imports have had problems with the collets going in properly. Any comments? Also I am looking at the 11X26 lathe. The last small lathe that I bought (an E brand), i constantly fought a chatter problem even on light cuts and ended up giving it away dirt cheap and bought an antique Sency tool lathe, but it won't cut threads. How does this one do? I would like to take a short drive over to Tulsa to look at them, but they don't have the mill in stock.

Hi Jim,
We have a couple members here who have the 11 x 26, there is a discussion on thread cutting here: http://wttool.mywowbb.com/forum2/116.html
We have had some problems a few years ago R-8 spindles (all of the machines were corrected).
Which Mill and drill are you looking at? sometimes I can pull a rabbit out of a hat

The Mill Drill i've wanted to look at is the 3006-0005. I've been in the business for years and I won't by sight unseen anymore....been bitten a couple times. Now just need something to hobby with in the garage.
