After the last few orders I've placed with WTT and half of the items not being in stock, I've decided not to place any orders with WTT till they've gone real time with there inventory. I'd
rather buy from a company that has everything in stock. Any idea's as to when this is going to happen?

Hello Hobotek and welcome to our forums.

We completely understand the inconvenience the lack of real-time inventory has caused on our customers. Because of this, over the past year and a half we have been taking the proper steps in the direction that will allow us to provide real-time inventory online. Unfortunately the process is not a quick one and no set launch date has not been set but we are making progress.

However, until the live inventory goes into effect, we have put in place a strong online customer service department that will instantly audit and assist customer's with online orders that contain out-of-stock items. The customer service rep will contact you instantly to inform you of the out-of-stock items and will provide you with alternatives and/or ETA of the back-orders.

Thank you for sharing your input!

Placed an order on Tue, Feb 27, 2007. Order status as of today Mar. 04, says "ready to ship".  If I had ordered with Enco, McMaster, J&L the stuff would have been here already. There seems to be a problem somewhere, maybe it has nothing to do with the inventory system, maybe it's just poor service. Wish I knew. Dunno why I continue to do business with WTT, I keep thinking things are gonna change :).

Don, I'm placing another order hopefully this one will be better than the last. The
order# is 07749 my name is Paul Hipps from Shelby,NC.  The last order I placed, took a week to process and half of the items weren't in stock. How about checking up on this one for me. One problem right from the start was, I got email about the 20% off deal for father's day, but there's no way to enter the "SAVE20" promotional code to get the discount.....gives me an error message. What's up on that?

TIA
Paul

I've got to say, the lack of real-time inventory info online has become a major frustration for me in ordering from WT. I'll admit that the turnaround on emails to/from customer service has improved lately, but it seems to me that a lot of effort gets expended in sorting out orders for stuff that isn't in stock.

The fact that this thread is now three years old (and still no real-time inventory info is available) is somewhat discouraging.

Perhaps orders for items not in stock in Michigan could be processed from the nearest location to the customer that has inventory, instead of having these stores ship the items to Warren which then sends them to the customer.

Steve_53,

Welcome to Wholesale Tool's forums and thank you for your feedback!

Real time inventory has been on the hit list for awhile and one that has moved to very top this year. This year we have some exciting changes planned for the website that will make shopping online at wttool.com much easier. Real time inventory could possibly be one of those features we implement this year. We understand this is what our customers want and will continue to strive in that direction.

In the meantime, we've ramped up our customer service levels to improve Q&A response times and to provide faster order processing times. Our live chat feature is always available to answers your questions in real-time while you browse. Please feel free to use the live chat to check on inventory levels while you browse.

Again, thank you for you input. Any feedback is always welcome so please feel free to offer any additional suggestions that will make using our site easier to use.

With today's technology it seems like a real-time inventory system for WTools would be a no-brainer. I haven't bought anything from there in a while.  I'm sticking with harbor freight and homier till Wtools gets their sh*t together.

Based on my experiences over the past few years, I'd say that (even at it's worst) WT's product selection and customer service far exceed what you get from either HF or Homier.

I'll admit to buying stuff from both HF and Homier over the years, but I learned early on that the majority of the stuff they sell is, at best, one-time use. Yeah, I know, there are some items WT sells that are, in all likelihood, from the same factories in China that HF and Homier get stuff from, but in terms of "real" tools (as opposed to throw-aways), there is a whole universe of stuff available from WT that HF or Homier don't even carry. For me, given the choice on a item that is available from any of the three; I'll go with WT, based on the quality of service that I've received in the past.

Having said all that - I am looking forward to seeing real-time inventory info on the WT website.

Well Paul I am sorry you feel that way, but let me tell you this before I put this to rest, so far today I have assisted 4 customers who needed parts for their machines they bought from us several years ago, and a couple more who had questions about cutter feeds & speed, & coolant,  good luck asking for that at HF or Homier.
