I have a maybe simple suggestion depending on your website make up. Have a shipping option for pick up. Make it so you can check stock at a specific branch and the availability of picking the item up. It would save alot of labor on your branch crews. Order and pay online, crew would pull it and you could walk in and pick it up. Done.
Maybe someday, but for now we have learned for experience that having the buyer present the card when they pick up a order is more secure for both the cardholder and us.
We have phone staff on hand to verify stock at all branches, while it is not always as easy as shopping online, you are getting a pair of eyeballs checking to makes sure what your coming for is on hand, and will be waiting for you when you get there.
